For towing over 1,000 lbs in the Jeep Wrangler, trailers with brakes are recommended, but required for trailer weights over 2,000 lbs.

2019 Jeep Wrangler Tongue Weight

Tongue weight refers to the weight exerted on a trailer hitch/ball mount. Generally speaking the tongue weight should usually be between 10-15% of the total trailer weight.

However, Jeep specifies that for the Wrangler this should be 10% of the total weight. This means for a Wrangler carrying the max capacity, the tongue weight should be no more than 200 or 350 lbs for the 2-door and 4-door respectively.

2019 Jeep Wrangler Engine Specs

2.0 L Turbo I4 Engine

The 2.0 L Turbo I4 Engine is an optional engine in the 2019 Wrangler.

The 2.0 L by itself supplies 270 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque.

3.6 L Pentastar Engine

The 3.6 L Pentastar V6 engine is the standard engine that comes in all trim levels of the 2019 Jeep Wrangler.
