2020 Toyota Highlander Oil Type and Capacities

Toyota recommends that for all oil changes in the 2020 Toyota Highlander, genuine Toyota motor oil is used.

The 2020 Toyota Highlander requires 5.8 q of 0W-20 in the 3.5 L engine and 4.8 q of 0W-16 in the Hybrid engine. See the chart below for filter recommendations as well.

If Toyota engine oil is not available, an oil that meets the ILSAC-GF-5 multigrade oil specifications can be used.

Additionally, Toyota states that if SAE 0W-20 or 0W-16 is not available, 5W-20 or 0W-20 can be used in its place (respectively), but should only be used one change in a row.

The 2020 Toyota Highlander 2.5 L hybrid engine requires 4.8 q of 0W-16 engine oil.

It also seems to require Purolator PL 14476.
